ELEPHANT

                         ELEPHANT LIFE

Elephants are large, intelligent mammals that are known for their distinctive physical features, including their long trunks and tusks. They are herbivores and are found in various habitats across Africa and Asia.

Elephants are social animals and live in herds led by a matriarch, which is usually the oldest and most experienced female. The herds are made up of related females and their young offspring, while adult males typically live alone or in smaller groups. Elephants have a complex communication system that includes vocalizations, body language, and even vibrations that can be felt through the ground.

Elephants are herbivores and consume a variety of plants, including grasses, leaves, fruits, and bark. They have large molars and a complex digestive system that allows them to break down tough plant materials. Elephants require a lot of food, with adult elephants consuming up to 300 pounds of food per day.

Elephants have long lifespans, with some individuals living up to 70 years in the wild. Females usually give birth to a single calf, which they care for and protect until it reaches adulthood. Calves are dependent on their mothers for milk for the first few years of their lives and learn important survival skills from older members of the herd.

Elephants are threatened by habitat loss and poaching for their ivory tusks. Conservation efforts are underway to protect elephant populations and their habitats.

Mountain

                               Mountain

A mountain is an elevated portion of the Earth's crust, generally with steep sides that show significant exposed bedrock. Although definitions vary, a mountain may differ from a plateau in having a limited summit area, and is usually higher than a hill, typically rising at least 300 metres above the surrounding land.

Mountains are formed through tectonic forces, erosion, or volcanism, which act on time scales of up to tens of millions of years. Once mountain building ceases, mountains are slowly leveled through the action of weathering, through slumping and other forms of mass wasting, as well as through erosion by rivers and glaciers.

The highest mountain on Earth is Mount Everest in the Himalayas of Asia, whose summit is 8,850 m (29,035 ft) above mean sea level. The highest known mountain on any planet in the Solar System is Olympus Mons on Mars at 21,171 m (69,459 ft).

                          Definition

There is no universally accepted definition of a mountain. Elevation, volume, relief, steepness, spacing and continuity have been used as criteria for defining a mountain. In the Oxford English Dictionary a mountain is defined as "a natural elevation of the earth surface rising more or less abruptly from the surrounding level and attaining an altitude which, relatively to the adjacent elevation, is impressive or notable.

Lost tiger

                             THYLACINE

The thylacine, also commonly known as the Tasmanian tiger or Tasmanian wolf, is an extinct carnivorous marsupial that was native to the Australian mainland and the islands of Tasmania and New Guinea.

It is also called the Tasmanian lion because of the stripes on its back.  Some people also call this the Tasmanian wolf. Having been widely hunted by European settlers, the thylacine had become rare by 1914, and the last known living specimen died in a private zoo in 1936.

What did thylacines eat?

Thylacines were carnivorous marsupials. They ate kangaroos, birds, and small rodents. When European settlers arrived, thylacines also ate poultry and sheep, which gave the settlers a reason to hunt thylacines to extinction.

Science knowledge :- Sky (aakaash)

Why does the sky always appear blue, what is the science behind it?

The sky is also called Akash, Amber and Zero.  Zero means where there is nothing.  There is no fixed color of the sky.  But have you ever wondered why the sky looks blue?  Why not green or black?  There is a science behind this too.  According to the report of WWD, the role of sunlight is behind this.  Now you will say that there are 7 colors in light, then why is the sky blue ?

According to the report, the way light interacts with the earth, due to the same reason the sky

appears blue.  In fact, when sunlight hits the gas particles in the atmosphere,

It disintegrates into all the seven colors of the rainbow (violet, blue, sky blue, green, yellow, orange, red).  It was called Rayleigh scattering after its discoverer, Lord Rayleigh.

Sunlight has to travel through a thick layer of the atmosphere before it can be scattered, deflected and visible to the human eye, and thus we see red and yellow light.  That's why sunrise and sunset often appear red or orange in color.

It is not that the sky always appears blue.  Skies are also seen in red and pink colors.  There are reasons behind this like sunrise and sunset.  In London in March 2022, the sky turned orange due to clouds of dust.  Sometimes the color of the sky can be unusual like this.
